Bringing you gifts from the sea…
We dive for world-class antique sea glass throughout the Caribbean and set it in .925 sterling silver. Our glass is purely ocean-tumbled; we never alter it in any way. Most pieces in out collection are 100 - 400 years old.
For the first time in several years, we’re excited to announce that we’re once again accepting custom jewelry orders!
We previously paused custom work because demand for our jewelry at art shows and through our online store grew beyond what our small family business could manage. Thanks to our growing team and new partnerships with talented metalsmiths, we’re finally able to offer a limited number of custom pieces again.
Step 1: Contact Us
Email photos of the artifact you’d like us to set—such as sea glass, a shark tooth, shell, or pottery—along with a description or inspiration photos of the design you have in mind.
Email: silentflightstudios@gmail.com
Step 2: Design Review
We’ll review your artifact and design idea to determine whether it can be safely set based on its size, shape, and condition. We’ll also offer feedback and recommendations for the finished design.
Step 3: Receive a Quote
Once we’ve discussed your design, we’ll provide a quote for the custom piece. Pricing will depend on the design, materials, metal choice, and complexity of the setting.
Step 4: Reserve Your Spot
Once we’ve agreed on the design and price, we’ll send you an invoice for a 50% non-refundable deposit. Your order is officially reserved when the deposit is received.
Step 5: Mail Your Artifact
After paying your deposit, you’ll mail your artifact to our studio. We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service.
Step 6: We Create Your Piece
Our team will carefully handcraft your custom jewelry in sterling silver or gold according to the approved design.
Step 7: Final Approval and Payment
When your piece is complete, we’ll email photographs for your approval and an invoice for the remaining 50% balance, plus return shipping. Your finished jewelry will be shipped once the final payment is received.
Custom-order requests will be accepted through August 15.
Production begins after we receive your artifact.
All custom pieces are expected to ship by mid-December, in time for the holidays, and may be completed sooner.
Because every artifact is unique, not every piece will be suitable for every design. Natural artifacts can crack or break during the setting process. By submitting your artifact, you acknowledge and accept this risk, as well as the risk of loss or damage during shipping to and from our studio.
Availability is limited, and custom orders will close once our production schedule is full.
We’re looking forward to helping you transform your treasured finds into heirloom-quality jewelry you can enjoy for years to come.
